We’ll bypass the traditional Route des Grands Alpes and blaze our own uncrowded trail from Mont Blanc all the way to the Côte d'Azur alongside Outside editor Tasha Zemke.

This one-of-a-kind trek—hiking with day packs only, village to village, and sleeping each night in a cozy mountain inn—takes on the Alps in their most natural state, with a triplet of French national parks. We’ll get incredible access to grazing Alpine ibex, chirping marmots, and soaring eagles and bearded vultures. And because it’s France, we’ll find ourselves eating very, very well.
